Abbi Pulling returns with Nissan for second Formula E Women’s Test in Valencia
Abbi Pulling will be back on track with Nissan Formula E Team later this month as the F1 Academy champion and simulator driver takes part in the all-female Formula E Women’s Test at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia.
The 21-year-old Briton will drive the Nissan e-4ORCE 05 on 31 October, marking her second appearance in the test after topping the timing sheets in last year’s inaugural session. The one-day event will run across two three-hour sessions (09:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00 local time, UTC +1) and closes out Formula E’s official pre-season testing week.
Pulling has built significant experience in Nissan’s Gen3 machinery since joining the team as Rookie and Simulator Driver in June 2024, combining her factory commitments with a campaign in the GB3 Championship, where she scored a podium at Brands Hatch earlier this year.
“I’m excited to get back on-track with Nissan Formula E Team and continue helping them to prepare for the upcoming season,” Pulling said. “My target is to get to grips again with the Nissan e-4ORCE 05 and build on what I learned from the Berlin Rookie Test.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time with the crew and I’m looking forward to working together at the test and in the simulator through the 2025/26 campaign.”
Nissan Team Principal Tommaso Volpe said Pulling’s return underlined both her potential and the team’s long-term commitment to developing female talent within elite motorsport.
“We’re very excited to see Abbi back on track after her appearances with the team last season,” Volpe said. “She has already demonstrated how skilled and professional she is, and we’ve really enjoyed collaborating with her since she joined officially in June.
“This test is another great opportunity for Abbi to keep building her knowledge of the e-4ORCE 05. It benefits her as a driver and strengthens the team as a whole. We have an ambitious program for her, but she absolutely has what it takes to succeed.”
Pulling’s continued involvement with Nissan highlights the manufacturer’s investment in its talent development pathway, linking its Formula E operations to its wider motorsport programmes and driver academy structure.
This year’s Formula E Women’s Test — the second since its introduction in 2024 — will feature double the track time for participants and all 11 teams on the grid. It forms part of the championship’s wider efforts to build a sustainable pipeline for women racers into the all-electric world championship.
Formula E confirmed the Valencia schedule last week, with teams set to run from 27–30 October in the series’ only collective pre-season session before Season 12 begins in São Paulo on 6 December 2025.
The Valencia circuit has long been a key testing venue for the championship, offering a fast, technical layout suited to both reliability checks and efficiency benchmarking before the start of the new campaign — the last in the GEN3 era before the debut of GEN4 technology in 2026.
For Pulling, the Valencia test marks another milestone in a breakout period that has seen her F1 Academy title, continued progress in GB3, and growing recognition as one of Britain’s most versatile young drivers.
Her dual commitments across single-seaters and Formula E development work have earned praise across the paddock, with Nissan confirming plans for her continued involvement in both simulator and track programmes throughout the 2025/26 season.
The Women’s Test will also offer a final opportunity for teams to gather performance data before freight is shipped to Brazil for the championship’s curtain-raiser. For Pulling, it represents another step forward in an expanding career that bridges the sport’s electric and traditional single-seater pathways.
