Colin Furze to join Robert Llewellyn as Zapheap co-host

YouTuber, engineer, and inventor Colin Furze will join Robert Llewellyn as the co-host for the upcoming series of Zapheap.

Zapheap

is a modern take on Scrapheap Challenge and a product of the Fully Charged Show. Earlier in 2025, plans for the new EV-focused take on the original format were announced by the Fully Charged founder and original Scrapheap host, Robert Llewellyn.

The show will see two teams led by Richard Morgan of Electric Classic Cars and New Electric’s Anne Kloppenberg engineer scrap material into electric-powered machines within a 10-hour timeframe.

Filming for the pilot episode of Zapheap is scheduled to begin in July this year, and Fully Charged presenters Imogen Boghal and Jack Scarlett will provide live updates from the teams’ top-secret workshop.

When the teams’ creations are finished, they will be put to the test in front of a live audience at the Everything Electric Expo running from Saturday October 11, to Sunday October 12.

Regarding Furze’s appointment as co-host, Llewellyn commented: “We are over the moon to welcome Colin Furze as co-host of Zapheap.

“His extensive experience and boundless enthusiasm as an engineer, inventor, and presenter make him the perfect person to help bring this inspirational gameshow to life — for both a new generation and those who remember and loved the original.

“We’ve been lucky enough to welcome Colin as a keynote speaker at our Everything Electric events in London, and we’re thrilled he’ll be joining us to finally make the Zapheap dream a reality.”

Furze added: “Scrapheap Challenge was a massive part of my childhood, it’s one of the things that inspired me to start building in the first place. I hope Zapheap sparks a whole new wave of makers to pick up tools and get inventing.”
