Cupra Formula E team re-born for 2025 with new copper livery

The Cupra Kiro Formula E team debuted its new livery at the second and most recent round of the 2025 Formula E season, the Mexico City ePrix.

The updated colour scheme pairs the Spanish carmaker’s signature copper with Kiro’s corporate fluorescent yellow to create an “unmissable” design.

Cupra’s decision to introduce copper into its Formula E livery was also inspired by the non-precious metal’s high level of electrical conductivity, thus indicating the brand’s commitment to electric vehicles.

In 2025, the all-electric Raval supermini will join Cupra’s existing EV line-up already comprising the Born family hatch, and Tavascan SUV coupe.

“Formula E merges emotion, competition and electric performance, values that we share and are represented by the cars,” said Cupra’s head of racing, Xavi Serra. “Design is part of everything we do at Cupra and [it] represents our winning attitude. We have created a unique and recognisable design for the Cupra Kiro cars that will stand out on the track as we compete for top positions.”

Kiro Racing’s team principal, Alex Hui, added: “Our new livery for Season 11 reflects the bold and innovative spirit that drives us as a team. CUPRA’s own distinctive copper colour palette complements our own signature florescent yellow to create a design that will be unmissable on track.”

Cupra Kiro’s 2025 Formula E entry uses the powertrain from Porsche’s 99X challenger, which took Andretti’s Jake Dennis to the driver’ championship in the 2022/2023 season, and Porsche works driver Pascal Wehrlein to driver’s honours the following season.

Cupra currently sits 10th from 11 teams in the 2024/2025 season’s driver standings with four points. Its best-placed driver is Briton Dan Ticktum, who scored all of the team’s points on its Formula E debut at the Sao Paulo season opener in December.

Ticktum sits 14th in the championship, while his teammate David Beckman sits at the bottom of the standings in 22nd.

The third round of the 2024/2025 Formula E season will take place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia on February 13-14.
