Skoda Elroq price and specification revealed

Skoda has confirmed UK pricing and specification for its new Elroq electric SUV.

The firm’s second all-electric model will be priced from £31,500 to £41,600 when order books open on October 18.

At 4.49m long, the Elroq is significantly smaller than Skoda’s other EV – the Enyaq – but larger than similarly priced compact rivals like the Kia EV3, Hyundai Kona and Volvo EX30.

The Elroq is the first car to demonstrate Skoda’s new angular Modern Solid design language, with a broad ‘tech deck’ fascia, split level lights and the Skoda name spelled out in dark chrome lettering across the nose and tailgate. A similar philosophy will be used on next year’s smaller Epiq and a larger Kodiaq-sized seven-seat SUV due in 2026.

Inside, it echoes the clean, simple design of the Enyaq, with a small instrument display ensconced in the dashboard, a 13-inch central touchscreen and a row of simple physical buttons beneath it.

From launch, the Elroq will be sold in four trim levels — SE, SE L, Edition and SportLine — and with three powertrain choices offering between 230 and 360 miles of range.

The £31,500 entry level SE 50 model comes exclusively with a 52kWh battery capable of up to 230 miles, and a 168bhp motor. Standard equipment includes LED lights, 19-inch alloys and a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen.

SE L 60 specification upgrades the battery to a 59kWh unit with a WLTP range of more than 250 miles and features a 201bhp motor. The £33,350 model also benefits from a heated steering wheel, heated seats, dual-zone climate control and front parking sensors.

Above the SE L, the Edition and Sportline trims are available with either the 59kWh battery or the 77kWh one used across larger VW Group cars.

Like the SE L, the smaller battery returns a range of more than 250 miles in both high-spec models. The larger battery offers up to 355 miles in the Sportline and 360 miles in the Edition – 60 miles more than the Volvo EX30 and marginally less than either the EV3 or similarly sized Renault Scenic E-Tech. The larger battery also offers 175kW charging compared with the smaller batteries’ 145kW.

Edition models build on the SE L specification with a unique 19-inch alloy design, dark chrome roof rails, acoustic side windows and keyless entry. Driver assistance is also boosted with travel assist plus and predictive adaptive cruise control.

SportLine models get suitably sporty aesthetic upgrades inc;uding 20-inch wheels, gloss black exterior trim, sports seats upholstered in microsuede and faux-leather, and carbon-effect decorative inserts. Matrix LED lights, a powered tailgate and progressive dynamic steering are also standard, and ’85’ cars come with sports suspension.
