Electric Vauxhall Grandland price and specification confirmed

The all-electric version of Vauxhall’s new Grandland SUV will cost from £40,995, the British company has confirmed.

The all-new Grandland is the first Vauxhall to be based on Stellantis’s STLA medium platform and sits at the top of its SUV range, above the Mokka and soon-to-arrive Frontera.

It’s a substantial 17cm longer than the outgoing ICE model, offering more interior space and major upgrade in technology. It also promises to deliver more than 400 miles of range when an extended range model joins the line-up next year.

That long range version will use a massive 98kWh battery to offer an impressive 435 miles of driving on a single charge and rapid charging will allow it to go from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes. We’ll also see it on the E-3008 and E-5008 from Peugeot.

At launch, however, the Grandland electric will come with a 73kWh battery that Vauxhall says should offer up to 325 miles of range. That is paired to a 210bhp motor powering the front wheels.

The Grandland is being offered in three trim levels – Design, GS and Ultimate. Prices start at £40,995 for the 73kWh Design, with GS priced from £43,145 and the Ultimate topping the range at £45,195.

Like other key models, including the Astra, Corsa and Mokka, Vauxhall is offering price parity between electric and hybrid models on PCP deals, with electric and hybrid versions of the Grandland available for £469 per month.

2024 Electric Vauxhall Grandland interior

As Vauxhall’s flagship model, the new Grandland showcases its latest technology and convenience features.

All versions come with full LED lights and the electric model benefits from wider wheel arch cladding and a high gloss finish to the lower cladding as standard. GS models get twin 10-inch digital displays for instruments and infotainment, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard, and also come with front and rear parking sensors, dual zone electronic climate control, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and traffic sign recognition.

From GS trim upwards, the Griffin badge on the ‘Vizor’ grille is illuminated and sits between Matrix LED adaptive headlights. Externally, the GS adds diamond-cut 19-inch alloy wheels, and a gloss black finish to the roof, rear spoiler and front and rear bumpers. Inside, there is ambient lighting and the central touchscreen is upgraded to 16-inch and comes with satellite navigation. Wireless phone charging features in the illuminated Pixel Box storage area and front seat occupants get heated AGR-approved seats and a heated steering wheel.

Opting for the Ultimate trim adds 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, heated windscreen and a powered tailgate. The driver also gets a head-up display, a Focal sound system and enhanced driver assistance including a 360-degree parking camera, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert.

Order books for the new Grandland are open now, with first customer deliveries expected in October.
