Volkswagen and She’s Electric launch live test drive events

Volkswagen and electric car start-up She’s Electric have announced two live events to promote EVs and give drivers a chance to try electric motoring for themselves.

The car maker and motoring initiative have teamed up for live events on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, allowing members of the public to get behind the wheel of VW’s full ID range of EVs.
Saturday 12th’s event will be held at Ellenborough Park in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, while oni Sunday 13th, it will move to Danesfield House in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Tickets are on sale now.

The events are aimed primarily at women but are open to anyone who wants to learn more about electric cars and sustainable lifestyles.

Research by Auto Trader suggests that women are less comfortable than men when it comes to visiting car dealerships and buying vehicles. Volkswagen say it hopes to bridge this gender gap by working with She’s Electric in a relaxed and inclusive environment, giving people a taste of what it’s like to drive an EV and help address any concerns they may have about EV ownership.

“Volkswagen is an established and trusted vehicle manufacturer, so we are delighted to be able to lend our expertise and cars to these fabulous She’s Electric events this autumn,” said Sarah Cox-Thornley, head of marketing at Volkswagen UK.

“Our full range of electric cars will be at both venues for people to see and drive, from the multi-award-winning ID.3 hatchback to the ID.4 and ID.5 SUVs and our flagship ID.7 model; the ID. Buzz will also be there for anyone interested in an EV with retro vibes.

“We like to use the phrase ‘same spirit, different energy’ when comparing the electric driving experience with petrol and diesel. We really hope this message comes across at these events for anyone feeling a bit puzzled or apprehensive about going electric, and we can’t wait to see how the She’s Electric audiences react to driving our cars.”
