Currys to sell Ohme home chargers through new partnership

EV owners can now buy an Ohme home charger through high street chain Currys.

The new deal marks the latest big-name tie-up for the wallbox manufacturer, which is already the official charging partner for multiple car brands, including Volkswagen, Hyundai, Polestar and Mercedes-Benz.

Currys, the UK’s largest electrical retailer, will now sell Ohme units direct to customers online and through dedicated points of sale in 50 of its flagship stores

“With EV sales in the UK up more than 10% this year, this new partnership between Currys and Ohme chargers was a natural step to offer to our customers,” said Zoe Lucid, senior buyer at Currys.

“Ohme’s award-winning chargers and reputation for excellent customer service meant it was the obvious choice for Currys’ customers helping them to make more sustainable choices combined with cutting-edge technology.”

David Watson, CEO at Ohme, added: “As the UK’s largest electrical retailer, we saw a collaboration with Currys as a big win for Ohme.

“It’s an exciting new route to the retail market that will bring EV chargers to a new audience, helping them to access smarter, greener and cheaper EV charging in the future and ensuring that no driver is left behind in the transition to e-mobility.”

All of Ohme’s chargers help drivers to save money via smart charging technology and dedicated EV tariffs. By connecting to the national grid in real time and automatically adjusting charging times, they allow drivers to take advantage of all the times of low price charging with smart dynamic tariffs.
