Peugeot and Citroen electric vans now priced the same as diesels

Peugeot and Citroen have announced a monthly finance deal, which offers business users the opportunity to purchase selected electric vans at the same price as their diesel-powered counterparts.

The two Stellantis-owned brands have introduced the offer to remove the high monthly finance costs involved with choosing an electric van over a diesel-powered light commercial vehicle (LCV).

The vans that fall within the new monthly price parity deal are the Peugeot E-Partner, E-Expert, and the larger E-Boxer. For Citroen, the e-Berlingo and the e-Dispatch are included. Both the Citroen e-Berlingo and its sister van, the Peugeot E-Partner, are available via business contract hire for £315 per month excluding VAT, following an initial upfront cost of £1,890.

This 36-month contract allows for 10,000 miles annually and includes a free wallbox to charge the van at home. Each van is purchasable via Stellantis Financial Services on a business contract hire, a finance lease, or a conditional sale.

Following the price parity news, Peugeot UK managing director, Nicola Dobson, commented: “Price parity represents an important step forward for fleet electrification. By removing the upfront monthly cost barrier, we’re enabling businesses to switch to electric vans while strengthening their total cost position from day one. With our fully electric LCV range and dedicated fleet support, Peugeot is ready to help national operators transition at scale.”

Her Citroen counterpart, Greg Taylor, added: “Small businesses are at the heart of the Citroen brand, and we understand that cost is the deciding factor for many when considering electric. By bringing electric vans in line with diesel on monthly price, we’re making electrification more accessible and realistic for SMEs. Combined with lower running costs, it means going electric now makes strong business sense.”

The Peugeot/Citroen electric van deal comes a month after Fiat and Vauxhall, two other Stellantis-owned brands, announced similar offers.
