Skoda issues first Peaq of upcoming seven-seat SUV design ahead of June 23 debut

Skoda has issued a set of preview sketches outlining the design of its upcoming seven-seat Peaq SUV ahead of its full reveal on June 23.

Hot on the heels of the recently launched Epiq crossover – the smallest car in Skoda’s EV range – the Peaq will be the second car fully designed using Skoda’s minimalist ‘Modern Solid’ design language.

The gloss black ‘Tech-Deck Face’ – a standard design element on all electric Skodas since the Elroq in 2025 – is connected to the T-shaped headlights via a frame-like loop motif inspired by the Skoda Vision O concept from 2025.

Beneath this set-up sits what the Czech manufacturer describes as a ‘volcano’-shaped bumper, as a result of its “pronounced lower contour and clearly defined horizontal line”.

Side-on, the Peaq’s status as Skoda’s flagship EV and the biggest Skoda yet is mirrored in its high shoulder line and wide D-pillars, which, when combined, create a robust stance and reflect the brand’s dependable qualities. Flush door handles are also integrated into the bodywork’s structured surfaces to improve aerodynamics and provide a clean aesthetic.

Around the back, the T-shaped lighting signature continues over to the tail-lights, as does the loop motif.

Karl Neuhold, Skoda’s head of exterior design, described the Peaq’s aesthetic as “timeless”.

“In designing the exterior of the Skoda Peaq, we consistently applied the Modern Solid design language, combining clean lines, balanced proportions and distinctive elements,” he explained. “Precisely sculpted surfaces and clearly structured details create a confident, timeless presence, while signature features such as the T-shaped headlights and Tech-Deck Face express Skoda’s identity in a new electric era.”

Upon arrival later this month, the Peaq will be the fourth electric-only model in Skoda’s line-up, alongside the Epiq, plus the award-winning Elroq and Enyaq. The Peaq’s rivals will include the Peugeot E-5008, the Mercedes GLB, and the Kia EV9.

When it goes on sale shortly after launch, prices for the Skoda Peaq are expected to start at around £46,000 and reach up to £65k for higher-trim models.
