Electric Fiat 500 awarded Best Small Electric Car for second year running

The all-electric Fiat 500 has picked up further recognition this year with the Best Small Electric Car award at the 2023 Carbuyer Best Car Awards, building on its success over previous years.

Carbuyer’s dedicated team of experts have put the most important cars on sale in the UK to the test, providing a jargon-free review of each car.

Just to be shortlisted for the Carbuyer award, a car needs to have impressed testers in areas including running costs, practicality, technology, performance and safety. For a win, the model must excel across the board.

When awarding the all-electric 500 with Best Small Electric Car, judges praised the electric range of the car as well as its design and driving capabilities.

Richard Ingram, Carbuyer said: The Fiat 500 is a cult classic, perfectly reimagined for the electric era. Its blend of retro charm, a strong electric range and fun driving dynamics meant there was no argument when it came to awarding our best small electric car for 2023.”

Greg Taylor, Managing Director Fiat and Abarth, said: “The recognition the all-electric 500 has been getting is a reflection of the hard work the engineers and designers have put into it. The fantastic new 500 has given us a great start on our journey of sustainable mobility with our customers.”

The all-electric Fiat 500 is the first fully-electric Fiat designed from the ground up. The car provides a raft of best-in-class features such as Level 2 Autonomous Driving technologies, a variety of battery options and a substantial driving range of up to 199 miles (WLTP) – the longest range of any electric city car on the market today. The all-electric 500C is also the only 4-seater convertible in its segment.

To put the all-electric 500 even further at the forefront of customers’ minds, the car boasts 85kW fast charging, enabling the battery to reach 80 per cent range in just 30 minutes and, more impressively, 30 miles in around five minutes.
