Xpeng has revealed the third model in its all-electric AI-led line-up, with the L03.
Set to sit alongside the current G6 and the inbound X9, the Xpeng L03 has launched simultaneously across 65 markets, with UK deliveries expected to start in 2027.
Described as a “Next-Gen AI SUV Coupé”, the 4.65m-long L03 is likely to compete with the likes of the Skoda Enyaq Coupe, Ford Capri and Kia EV6 when it goes on sale, as well as the ubiquitous Tesla Model Y.
Sitting beneath the G6 SUV, Xpeng says the L03 is its most global model yet and claims it brings together “supercar-inspired design”, premium comfort, flexible practicality and intelligent driving powered by its latest advanced driver assistance systems.
Penned by ex-Ferrari designer JuanMa Lopez, the L03 uses Xpeng’s Vital Flow design philosophy and has a class-leading drag coefficient of just 0.228. Inside, it’s the usual bland affair, with a 15.6-inch central display dominating proceedings and “lounge-style” seating.
The L03 will debut Xpeng’s latest infotainment setup with an AI assistant that will “interpret user intent” and support more natural conversations, if talking to your car is something that you enjoy. It will also integrate Google Maps directly into its in-house sat nav – a first for any Chinese car brand.
On the driving front, Xpeng claims that its AI-powered “Next Generation Pilot” will be rolled out across Europe from next year and will bring its ADAS closer to how humans perceive and react to road conditions.
Beyond the software, the L03 looks set to be sold with three powertrain options. While UK price and specifications are still to be confirmed, the car is already available to order in Norway in RWD Standard Range, AWD Performance and AWD Performance Ultra variants.
The entry-level car uses a rear-mounted 241bhp motor paired with a 58.3kWh LFP battery. Official WLTP range is 276 miles while peak DC charging of 193kW delivers a 10-80% top up in 20 minutes.
Above that, the Performance model adds a front motor for 382bhp and 318lb ft of torque for a 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds. A 71.2kWh battery offers up to 273 miles of range, while charging time matches the smaller battery thanks to 236kW peak DC rates. The Performance Ultra gets the same hardware but cosmetic and equipment upgrades.
Pricing in Norway starts at just £20,500 for the RWD model, rising to £28,750 for the Performance Ultra – less than an entry-level Toyota Urban Cruiser.
However, based on comparative costs of the G6, UK prices for the Xpeng L03 are likely to sit around £30,000 to £40,000 to avoid clashing with the more technically advanced G6.
