Volvo extends partnership with Eden Project until 2027

Volvo has extended its partnership with the Eden Project until 2027. The agreement sees the Swedish carmaker remain as the eco visitor attraction’s official electric car partner and presenting partner of the Eden Sessions annual live music series.

The Eden Project will continue to use a fleet of nine all-electric Volvo EX40 SUVs for staff and visitors around its main site in Cornwall as part of the partners’ drive to inspire and educate about the global collective responsibility to create a greener, more sustainable world.

The all-electric fleet is also used by teams working on developing Eden Projects in Morcambe and Dundee.

Volvo Car UK will also support the Eden Project’s Nature Connections early years programme, which emphasises the importance of fostering a connection with nature during children’s formative years and nurturing a family culture of outdoor exploration.

Nicole Melillo Shaw, Volvo Car UK managing director, said: “Volvo aims to be a pioneer in protecting people and the planet, and we have set bold targets as a company to be completely climate neutral by 2040.

“We know we need to do more, and that we need to find like-minded organisations and people to work with to be part of the solution. We are delighted to extend our partnership with The Eden Project, an acknowledgment of our shared vision and ambition for a safer, sustainable future.”

Andy Jasper, Eden Project CEO, added: “The Eden Project is incredibly proud of our continuing relationship with Volvo Car UK. Volvo are not only completely in tune with the Eden Project mission, but they are also leaders in sustainable transport and a huge brand that is recognised and trusted around the world.”

In 2024, the Volvo EX40 was crowned Mid-Sized Car of the Year in the UK Motor Awards. The EX30 is also a multiple award winner. In 2023, it was named Eco Warrior of the Year by Top Gear, Car of the Year by Electrifying, and The Sun’s Car of the Year.

The larger EX90 fared similarly well. Volvo’s all-electric flagship SUV was named Top Gear’s Luxury Car of the Year in 2024, and won the 2023 Green Good Design Award.
