Rivian electromobility spinout unveils line-up of two and four-wheel EVs
Also, Rivian’s electromobility spinout, has taken the wraps off its initial range of all-electric vehicles, made up of the TM-B bike and two TM-Q quads.
Given 80% car trips are under 15 miles and half of those are less than six miles, the Palo Alto-based firm aims to provide an zero-emission alternative to cars for short, local trips and to reduce inner city congestion. Also’s line-up of EVs is aimed at both individual users and businesses alike.
It’s first EV is the TM-B two-wheeler, and what Also describes as a “category redefining electric bike.” The Also TM-B’s is based on a single platform. With a single touch, its modular top frame can be swapped from being geared towards utility and commuting activities, to off-road and recreational riding.

Underpinning the TM-B is Also’s software-defined DreamRide technology. Instead of using a direct mechanical connection, the bike adopts a tech-driven approach combining precision motor control and energy regeneration to tailor the bike’s dynamics to the rider’s riding style.
Rivian Founder and CEO, RJ Scaringe, described the Also TM-B’s underpinnings as a “ground-up technology platform that enables us to deliver rich, personalized experiences that get better over time, through the power of software.”
As well as software-defined riding, the TM-B comes with a digital touchscreen with navigation and media functionality, plus call and app integration. The touchscreen is automatically activated when the rider approaches the bike.

Similarly, the in-built security system automatically locks the battery, wheels, and frame when the rider walks away. Real-time tamper alerts can be sent to the owner via the Also smartphone app.
The TM-B’ is available in two battery sizes – a standard battery returning up to 60 miles worth of range, and a large battery capable of 100 miles on a single charge. The smaller of the two can be charged from 0-100% in 2 hours, 20 minutes, while the bigger takes 3h45m. Both promise “state-of-the-art energy density, safety, and USB-C fast charging up to 240 watts.”
The TM-B is offered in three variants: the Limited Launch Edition priced from $4,500 (around £3,330), the TM-B Performance (also $4,500/£3,330), and the standard TM-B with its $4,000 (£2,995) price tag.
Alongside the TM-B, Also has introduced the TM-Q. The TM-Q is a pedal-assist electric quad with the same technology suite as its two-wheeled cousin.

The Also TM-Q will be offered as a commercial vehicle designed for short, last-mile deliveries. This version runs on a scalable, data-driven platform intended to help businesses make the transition towards all-electric fleets, as well as assist with optimising their vehicle use, improving efficiency, and reducing their total operational costs.
A consumer TM-Q will also be available as a standard passenger vehicle for motorists seeking a safe, compact, zero-emissions alternative to a car. Like similar quadricylcles such as the Citroen Ami and the Microlino, the TM-Q is geared towards short daily trips and errands.
Neither technical details nor pricing have yet been announced for the TM-Q.

The final part of the Also unveil was its Alpha Wave Helmet, which it says ushers in “the next generation in helmet safety technology and connectivity.”
The helmet comes with a Release Layer System, which sees the its external outer panels come away in the event of an accident. By adopting this approach, rotational forces are significantly dissipated, reducing the risk of life-changing brain injuries.
Like the TM-B and the TM-Q, the Alpha Wave helmet adopts a tech-focused approach. As well as integrated lights to help riders see and be seen, its integrated audio system with four wind-shielded speakers and two noise-cancelling microphones also allows them to follow turn-by-turn directions, take calls, or listen to music or podcasts while on the move.

When it comes to the future, pre-orders and reservations for the Also TM-B are already open with deliveries expected as early as spring 2026. Later this year, customers in the United States will be able to purchase Also vehicles through Rivian online or its network of retail stores.
What’s more, Also has signed a multi-year partnership with Amazon to develop a customised pedal-assist e-cargo quad. When completed, the last-mile delivery vehicle aims to become part of Amazon’s micromobility fleets in Europe and the US.
