Citroen Ami Buggy updated as order books open for summer 2025
Citroen has added a facelifted version of its Ami Buggy to its Ami line-up as order books open on May 6th ahead of an August 2025 delivery date.
A revised version of the all-electric Citroen Ami was previewed at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, with an updated body drawing heavily on the chunky Citroen Oli concept from 2022. Further design changes to the Citroen Ami included the French carmaker’s new retro-inspired logo, and a flatter front bumper with the Ami name embossed on it.
In a further nod to Citroen’s heritage as a maker of innovative, quirky cars, the slots on the front wings are a subtle homage to the brand’s iconic 2CV. The updated Ami is available in a standard ‘Night Sepia’ hue, with individual red, white, and green add-on packs, which add a coloured dashboard, plus matching graphics with checkerboard wheel covers.

Alongside the refreshed regular model, the ruff ‘n tumble Citroen Ami Buggy is getting an update. To differentiate it from the standard 2+2 Ami quadricycle, the Buggy benefits from a convertible fabric roof, a roof spoiler, yellow detailing, and gold-finished 14-inch steel wheels. The Citroen Ami Buggy also gets metal side bars in place of doors.
The Citroen Ami Buggy is also available with the optional Palmeira trim providing three coloured storage boxes, a coloured bag hook, a set of coloured door mats, coloured door nets, plus partition net to separate driver and passenger. Moreover, the Citroen Ami Buggy Palmeira pairs the driver with Andy the robot – the car’s mascot – as a dashboard-mounted travel buddy.

Like the pre-facelift Citroen Ami, the cabin of the updated version – both standard and Buggy – is a utilitarian affair with just a steering wheel, digital speedometer, and a gear selector. There is, however, a dash-mounted smartphone holder that can act as an infotainment system displaying the car’s battery level, mileage, charging time, and entertainment when paired with Citroen’s MyConnect Box app.
Both the regular Ami and Ami Buggy are unchanged underneath with a 5.5kWh battery returning 8bhp, a 28mph top speed, and a maximum range of 46 miles. Alongside the Citroen Ami and Ami Buggy, an Ami Cargo for delivering small packages and an Ami for All converted for those with reduced mobility are also available.

Orders for the new Ami will open in its native France in May, with deliveries starting in August. Citroen has yet to confirm whether it will bring this updated version of the Ami to UK shores. In European markets, however, pricing for the standard Ami starts at €7,990 (around £6,800) and €9,590 (approximately £8,200) for the Ami Buggy.
