The Range Rover Sport Electric has gone on sale as parent company JLR continues its EV expansion plan.

Announced just a few weeks after the full-fat Range Rover Electric, the Range Rover Sport Electric squeezes the same EV powertrain into a smaller, more dynamic package.

Range Rover says its second all-electric model matches its V8 sibling for performance while delivering more precision and refinement.

Under the skin, the Range Rover Sport Electric uses a twin-motor setup to deliver all-wheel-drive and up to 548bhp and 627lb ft. With launch control activated, that’s enough to get the SUV from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds.

As well as being quick in a straight line, Range Rover says the Sport Electric is the most dynamic car in its line-up. The body is stiffer and has a lower centre of gravity than the hybrid V8 model and features a wealth of EV-specific chassis management systems.

These include adaptive twin-valve dampers, electronic active anti-roll and all-wheel steering as well as bespoke torque management systems. However, Range Rover insists that the car’s more dynamic profile doesn’t come at the expense of its off-road ability.

It even took it on a gruelling final test through the open‑air Carrara marble quarries in Italy to showcase its capability.

Like the flagship Range Rover, the Sport uses a 118.5kWh battery and manages to squeeze an extra six miles from it, with an official range of 378 miles. It also supports up to 400kW DC charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in 22 minutes.

The Range Rover Sport Electric also takes the same design approach as its larger sibling, with only subtle changes to the grille and wheel designs marking out its electric powertrain.

Prices for the Range Rover Sport Electric start at £109,810 – £45,000 less than the flagship model. Buyers can choose from three standard trim levels – Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography – plus a limited-time First Edition version, with prices topping out at £216,290 before options.

Order books are open now, with first customer deliveries expected in early 2027.
