Orders for Vauxhall Frontera Electric now open

Orders for the new Vauxhall Frontera SUV are now open with prices starting from £23,495 for both the Frontera Electric and Frontera Hybrid models.

This highly competitive price tag marks the first time that a carmaker has offered UK customers price parity between its EV and hybrid models.

Vauxhall has yet to announce delivery dates for the Frontera, but they are expected to be made later in 2025 with a long-range version scheduled to join the line up around the same time.

The Frontera Electric is available with a 44kWh battery and a single front-mounted offering 113bhp, a top speed of 87mph, and 0-62mph time of 12.1 seconds. The battery will return a range of 186 miles, and with 100kW fast charging, can be charged from 20-80% in 26 minutes.

The Vauxhall Frontera is available in either Design or GS trim. Entry-level Design models start at £23,495 and offer 16-inch black steel wheels, wheel arch cladding and body-colour bumpers paired with black skid plates.

The GS models are priced from £25,985 and come with aerodynamic 17-inch alloy wheels, high gloss black door mirrors, silver skid plates, as well as a black roof with tinted rear windows.

GS models also add more advanced comfort-focused seats, automatic climate control, front parking sensors and an electro-chromatic rear view mirror.

Standard kit on both versions of the Vauxhall Frontera Electric includes LED running lights, twin 10-inch digital displays, sat nav, wireless smartphone mirroring and charging, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, cruise control, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and driver attention alert.

The Frontera Electric is also available with Vauxhall’s Electric All In package. This offers eight years of comprehensive roadside assistance and emergency charging assistance allowing drivers to call for help to either recharge their vehicle at the roadside or be recovered to the nearest charging point.

In addition to extended roadside support, Electric All In retains Vauxhall’s popular charging offer including £500 credit, which can be used towards either an Ohme home wallbox installation or Tesco charging credit or Octopus Electroverse credit. New to the offer is 10,000 miles’ worth of free home charging when switching to the Intelligent Octopus GO home energy tariff.

James Taylor, Vauxhall UK’s CEO believes that the landmark price parity between the Frontera Electric and Hybrid will “democratise access to electric vehicles.”

“The new Frontera opening for orders is an important milestone in making electric vehicles more accessible as the first model in the UK market to offer an identical list price for electric and petrol hybrid versions,” he said. “With our fully refreshed electric SUV line-up, we are providing customers with even more choice as part of our ongoing efforts to democratise access to electric vehicles.”

Other all-electric Vauxhall SUVs include the Astra, Mokka SUV and the larger Grandland.
