Mollie’s hotel and diner outlines EV charging commitment

Mollie’s, the new hotel and diner concept designed by Soho House, is pledging to install electric vehicle charging facilities in all of its future properties.

Providing access to electric car charging facilities is part of Mollie’s mission to embrace technology and innovation to enhance the customer experience and to cater for the needs of the modern traveller. Furthermore, Mollie’s promises to double the charging capacity at all of its existing properties over the next two years.

The two branches in Oxfordshire and Bristol are the beginning of Mollie’s ambitious plans to roll out its own distinctive and disruptive ‘budget-luxe’ offering and to expand to 100 sites in the UK and Europe over the next ten years, with a further ten locations already earmarked as part of the immediate expansion plan, including the end 2023 launch of city-centre based Mollie’s Manchester.

All existing Mollie’s properties are equipped with electric vehicle charging bays and the business is committing that EV charging facilities will feature in every new Mollie’s site that has parking for 20 or more cars and can be served by the grid.

Mollie’s Oxford has eight charging bays and Mollie’s Bristol has 14, with a mix of rapid and overnight chargers and disabled bays at each venue. Both hotels plan to double their charging facilities in the next two years.

Guests can check in online or via the app and have their room key delivered to their phone wherever they are and when it’s convenient for them. Electric Vehicle charging bays can be pre-booked before arrival and there’s 24-hour online chat support with the friendly reception team, in multiple languages.

CEO Darren Sweetland said: “I am thrilled already with the sustainable and tech advances Mollie’s has made as a brand. We are pioneering in the hospitality and travel industry, and I will continue to ensure that we champion our electrical vehicle charging commitment across our growing portfolio of hotels, and I pledge to double the existing EV charging bays over the next two years to meet with the ever-growing sustainable traveller lifestyle.”
