Leapmotor B05 arrives this July with 300-mile range and £29k price
Leapmotor will launch its B05 hatchback in the UK this summer as it looks to expand its presence into the traditional family car market.
Set to arrive in July the Leapmotor B05 is a C-segment rival to the Volkswagen ID.3, Renault Megane, Vauxhall Astra and Peugeot E-308.
However, in typical Leapmotor fashion, it is set to undercut all these rivals with an official starting price of £30,495. That is reduced by a £1,500 “Leap-Grant”, cutting the B05 price to £28,995.
In keeping with the larger B10 and C10 SUVs, the Leapmotor B05 comes in just one fully-loaded trim level and with a single powertrain choice.
The B05 uses a rear-mounted 215bhp motor to deliver a 0-62mph time of 6.7 seconds, putting it well ahead of entry-level versions of its rivals. Its 67.1kWh battery also exceeds basic versions of most alternatives, offering up to 300 miles and 174kW DC charging.

A cell-to-chassis battery construction helps with rigidity and weight saving and Leapmotor says the B05’s suspension has been tuned for European roads, and the car delivers 50:50 weight balance for “agile and engaging handling”.
Standard equipment on all B05s includes a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic air-conditioning, automatic LED headlights and taillights, keyless entry and start, and rear privacy glass.
Inside, passengers get electrically adjustable heated front seats finished in a bamboo and “eco-leather” upholstery, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging and a 12-speaker stereo controlled via a 14.6-inch central touchscreen with Apple and Android mirroring and onboard wifi.

Leapmotor UK MD Damien Dally commented: “We’ve made great strides since we launched our brand just over a year ago, and the B05 is proof that our exciting journey shows no signs of slowing down. Moreover, it serves as further evidence of our unwavering commitment to make the switch to electrification as smooth, affordable and desirable as ever.”
Order books for the Leapmotor B05 will open in early July, with first deliveries later that same month.
