Ford ramps up production of three new EVs for Europe
Ford has put its all-electric Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier, and E-Transit Courier into full-scale production for its European market. The three EVs will be built at Otosan-run Ford factory in Craiova, Romania.
The Puma Gen-E crossover starts at £29,995 for UK buyers, and offers a range of up to 234 miles. In ICE form, the Puma is the Blue Oval’s biggest-seller in Europe. Meanwhile, deliveries for the van-based Ford E-Tourneo Courier MPV will begin in spring 2025.
The E-Transit Courier is a compact van with a £27,000 price tag and a 700kg payload capacity, plus 25% more load space than the previous generation Ford Transit Courier. As such, the E-Transit Courier can carry two Euro pallets and has a 181-mile range.
The Ford Puma Gen-E and the E-Tourneo Courier will join the all-electric Ford Capri and Mustang Mach-E in the brand’s passenger vehicle sector. The E-Transit courier will become part of the Ford Pro commercial vehicle line-up alongside the full EV E-Transit, E-Transit Custom, and E-Tourneo Custom.

“Ford has been on an incredible journey, from introducing our first electric vehicle in Europe, the Mustang Mach-E, to now offering a broad range of electric cars and commercial vehicles in just a few years,” said Jon Williams, the general manager for Ford Blue and Model e in Europe.
“The Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier and E-Transit Courier further enhance our existing electric vehicle range so there is a choice of vehicles to suit both private and business customers, opening up the benefits of electric mobility to an even wider audience.”
Güven Özyurt, the general manager for the Craiova factory added: “We take pride in contributing to Ford’s success in Europe with new models that further strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio. Built at our state-of-the-art Craiova plant, these new electric models showcase our expertise in delivering innovative, high-quality vehicles that elevate the driving experience for Ford customers.”
While manufacturered at the Craiova factory, each of the Blue Oval’s three new EVs are a truly European effort. Many of the components used are produced at Ford’s Cologne plant in Germany, with the electric drivetrains are made at its Halewood facility in the United Kingdom.
