Ford Ireland launches free charger deal with new EVs
Ford Ireland has announced a new charger promotion to help cut the costs of switching to an EV.
The Blue Oval in the Republic of Ireland has teamed up with ChargeGuru to offer new EV buyers a new home wallbox and installation for free through Ford’s Power Promise.
The move comes weeks after the brand launched the EV promotion in Northern Ireland, where drivers can get a home charger fitted for just £10. Ford says the offer is “intended to encourage drivers to switch to electric by removing common adoption barriers and making EV ownership more affordable than ever”.
The deal applies to Ford’s entire all-electric passenger car range, including the Puma Gen-E, Explorer, Capri and Mustang Mach-E, and includes a standard installation of a Sync Energy charger. Customers can also upgrade to the Hypervolt charger for an additional cost.
Denis Watling, UK managing director at ChargeGuru UK an Ireland, said: “As a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions throughout Europe, ChargeGuru is on a mission to make EV charging simple for everyone.
“We have already installed hundreds of EV chargers for Ford’s commercial customers, via our existing partnership with Ford Pro. So expanding our partnership with Ford to enable their private customers throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland to charge their electric Fords was a logical & exciting next step.”
To take advantage of the deal, Irish customers need to contact their local Ford dealer, who will submit a request to ChargeGuru. They must also apply for the SEAI Home Charger Grant in advance of installation works being carried out.
By 2035, Ford is targeting all vehicle sales to be 100% all-electric.
