Applegreen Electric joins Paua payment network

Applegreen Electric has become the latest public charging provider to sign up to the Paua payment network.

The two groups have signed an agreement that means by the end of 2024 users of Paua’s charge card and app will be able to access Applegreen’s 500 chargepoints around the UK and Ireland with the tap of a card or smartphone button.

The first stage of the agreement will see more than 250 ultra-rapid chargers at 20 Welcome Break motorway service stations and Applegreen services added to the Paua system. The firm currently has UK sites stretching from London to Glasgow and Cardiff.

Within the next 12 months, a total of 500 charging points at Applegreen and Welcome Break locations in the UK and Ireland will be covered by the partnership.

The new deal means Paua users now have access to more than 43,000 charge points at more than 14,000 locations managed by more than 25 charging providers across the UK. The addition of Applegreen Electric means that Paua drivers have access to 73% of the UK’s high-powered chargers and coverage at 85% of UK motorway service areas.
