Bianchi Impulso E-Allroad TRK review

Bianchi’s Impulso E-Allroad electric commuter bike offers versatility for both daily urban commuting and weekend adventures off the beaten path.

By borrowing the chassis from the E-Impulso gravel bike and adding essential features like SKS full-length mudguards, an SKS Infinity GT3 rear rack, and front and rear Lezyne lights powered by the e-motor system, Bianchi has tailored this bike for a variety of riding scenarios.

The Impulso’s £2749.00 price tag is justified by its components, including the X35 Plus rear-hub motor and internal 250Wh battery from Mahle SmartBike.

Despite the motor’s output of 40Nm of torque being lower than mid-mounted systems, it offers a lightweight alternative. The iWoc controller, positioned on the bike’s down tube, allows easy access to different power settings, although some may find it less practical for navigating in traffic compared to top-tube placement.

An optional smart display, Mahle’s Pulsar ONE, enhances user experience by providing clear battery capacity and ride information, as well as convenient control over power settings and lights. Alternatively, riders can use the My SmartBike app for similar functionality.

On the road, the Impulso offers smooth handling and comfortable ergonomics, thanks to features like Herrmans grips and a Velomann saddle. The X35 motor provides subtle assistance, complementing the 1×11 drivetrain for efficient performance. Hydraulic disc brakes ensure reliable stopping power, although some may find the lever feel slightly lacking compared to higher-spec options.

Despite being equipped with gravel-focused tires, the Impulso performs well on both urban streets and off-road trails, although its road performance may not match that of dedicated road bikes. However, its range is sufficient for most commutes, averaging 45 to 55 miles per charge, depending on terrain and conditions.

Overall, the Impulso E-Allroad offers a well-rounded commuting and recreational riding experience, making it a versatile choice for riders seeking a capable electric bike for various riding environments.
