Updated entry-level Vauxhall Astra Electric Griffin priced from £35,005

The new Vauxhall Astra Electric Griffin is priced from £35,005 and comes with eight years’ roadside assistance, 10,000 miles of free home charging, plus a £500 contribution towards an Ohme homecharger.

The Griffin is the entry-level model in the Astra range, and replaces the Design trim. The Vauxhall Astra Griffin – in both electric and internal combustion (ICE) guise – comes well equipped, and ushers in several changes inside and out.

In terms of external visuals, the Griffin gets a more premium aesthetic over the outgoing car. The updates include a contrasting black roof, and tinted rear windows. Astra Electric Griffin models benefit from 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while ICE variants get 17-inch wheels, replacing the 16-inch variants found on the Design trim.

Across the range, the Vauxhall Astra Electric Griffin and regular Astra Griffin come with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, a frameless rear-view mirror, keyless start, and a rear-view 180-degree reversing camera.

In terms of connectivity, both cars come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto displayed via a 10-inch colour touchscreen. Matching it is a 10-inch digital driver display.

In terms of power, the Vauxhall Astra Electric Griffin comes with a front-mounted 54kWh electric motor producing 154bhp and returning a range of up to 260 miles. Charging capacity is up to 100kW with DC charging.

The Astra Electric Griffin’s £35,005 starting price undercuts the government’s ‘Expensive Car Supplement‘ imposed on EVs priced from £40,000 upwards. This pricing strategy is in-line with the rest of the Vauxhall range.

Stellantis-owned Vauxhall is one of the only car makers offer an all-electric version of its road car line-up, and remains committed to an electrified future. The Vauxhall Astra Electric Griffin is available with the brand’s ‘Electric All In’ package, which comes with eight years of comprehensive roadside assistance including emergency charging charging support.

‘Electric All In’ also comes with £500 credit, which can be used towards an Ohme home charger, plus a complementary six-month subscription to Connect Plus, Vauxhall’s suite of connected services including a connected alarm, integrated ChatGPT, and live navigation.

In-line with its electrification drive, Vauxhall’s ‘Electric Street of Britain‘ programme enables all-electric car owners without a home charger to access public chargers.
