Take a ‘Peaq’ at Skoda’s new seven-seat EV

The first images and details of the Skoda Peaq have been revealed as the Czech brand prepares to launch its biggest and most expensive model to date.

The fully-electric seven-seat SUV has been showcased ahead of its launch later this year, albeit under camouflage, revealing a close connection to the Vision 7S concept from 2022.

Set to act as an EV equivalent to the current flagship Kodiaq, the Skoda Peaq promises a range of more than 370 miles and Skoda’s famous practicality and flexibility.

It will arrive in mid-2026 and, from launch, buyers will be able to choose from three powertrain variants – the 60, 90, and 90x.

Power ranges from 201bhp in entry-level models to 295bhp in the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive 90x variant. The 90x will get from standstill to 62mph in 6.7 seconds and Skoda claims it will offer the same 372 miles range as the single-motor 90 model from its 86kWh battery. Both 90 models will charge from 10-80% in 28 minutes thanks to peak DC charging of 195kW while the 60 model, with its slower charging, will take 27 minutes to top up its 59kWh battery.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed but the Peaq is expected to go head-to-head with the Peugeot E-5008, which starts at around £46,000 and rise to just over £52,000. In higher grades, it could also potentially be seen as an alternative to the £65,000 Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

At 4.9m long the Skoda Peaq is almost 15cm bigger than the existing Kodiaq. Skoda says this, along with an almost three-metre wheelbase, allows it to offer seating for seven adults and up to 890 litres of boot space in five-seat configuration.

The Czech car maker says the Peaq will offer “exceptional” comfort across all three rows thanks to generous legroom and headroom. Adding to this is a new optional Relax Package. This includes massage seats with electrically adjustable leg rests, front pillows and a foldable table. It also brings a new high-end sound system developed by audio specialists Sonos.

Skoda will offer five interior designs for the Peaq, including Sportline, Suite, Loft and Lodge. Each features a unique upholstery ranging from fabric to synthetic leather or suede. The Peaq also features Skoda’s biggest ever panoramic sunroof, with electrochromatic zonal dimming, and comes with a 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen running the latest Android-based operating system.

Along with a bespoke dark-themed interior and sports seats, the Peaq Sportline gets gloss black exterior trim, unique alloy wheel designs and brings adaptive Matrix LED lights and an illuminated TechDeck Face as standard.

Klaus Zellmer, Skoda CEO, commented:: “The Skoda Peaq is designed for real life – for families who need space, for drivers who want confidence on long journeys, and for anyone who values modern style without compromise.

“Peaq brings a new sense of scale, smart functionality, and progressive design to the large electric SUV segment, setting a benchmark for what a modern Skoda can be.”
