Škoda Elroq vRS rocks up with 335bhp and 340-mile range

The Skoda Elroq vRS has been unveiled at the Milan Design Week with 335bhp, and a 340-mile range.

This performance-focused version of Skoda’s compact SUV will serve as the Elroq family’s flagship, and borrows the twin-motor, all-wheel drive set-up from the larger Enyaq vRS. This means the Škoda Elroq vRS can reach 0-62mph in a Golf GTI-beating 5.4 seconds. The vRS’ chassis has also been stiffened to give the driver a “sportier” feel over the regular Elroq.

The vRS is based on the Volkswagen Group’s EV-only MEB platform, which underpins the standard Elroq. The vRS gets the same 84kWh battery pack as the Elroq 85. However, the extra 52bhp, 21-inch aero wheels, and lowered suspension – 15mm at the front, 10mm at the rear – see the vRS return a range of 340 miles; 20 less than its non-sporty sibling. Using a 185kW ultra-fast charger, the Škoda Elroq vRS can be charged from 10% – 80% in around 26 minutes.

Along with the 21-inch wheels and lower stance, the Škoda Elroq gets the vRS trim level’s signature black accents, a new roof rail, and plenty of detailing finished in the Hyper Green colour the Czech manufacturer reserves for its sportiest models. Škoda has also joined the likes of Abarth by giving the Elroq vRS either a synthesised “Sport” or “Futuristic” external sound; a safety feature created to alert surrounding pedestrians when the vehicle nearby.

Given it’s the range topper, the Elroq vRS builds on the already-generous equipment list found in the standard Elroq. Standard kit includes a 12-speaker Canton sound system, an augmented reality head-up display, and four fast-charging USB-C ports. A five-inch driver display and 13-inch infotainment screen also benefit from vRS-only graphics.

Further interior changes over the standard Elroq are a three-spoke sports steering wheel, a carbon-effect trim, and a microfibre upholstery with lime stitching. Interior options include the Maxx packaging with tri-zone climate control, electric seat adjustment, plus massage and memory functions. A DCC adaptive chassis with numerous shock absorber settings up to 15 adjustable parameters is available as an add-on.

Despite the Elroq’s performance credentials, the Elroq still retains Škoda’s core philosophy of practicality and being “simply clever”. With the rear seats up, there is 470 litres of boot space. With them down, this expands to 1,580 litres.

Pricing for the Škoda Elroq vRS is expected to start somewhat higher than the top-tier £41,600 Elroq 85, with prices set to be announced later this month. Initial deliveries of the Škoda Elroq vRS are scheduled for summer 2025.
