Renault Scenic secures full £3,750 Electric Car Grant

The starting price of the Renault Scenic has been further reduced after the award-winning SUV qualified for the top-level Electric Car Grant.

The family SUV is the third EV from the French brand to secure the full Band 2 discount of £3,750 after previously qualifying for the £1,500 Band 1 saving.

The change, which is effective immediately, brings the starting price of the Renault Scenic techno down to £33,245, making it among the most affordable C-segment electric SUVs on sale.

The mid-tier Scenic E-Tech techno esprit Alpine now costs from £36,245, while the range-topping iconic esprit Alpine starts at £38,245.

Approval for the higher tier of grant came after a demonstration of 100% renewable energy use for the production of Renault batteries at supplier LG’s plant in Poland. After construction, the packs are installed in the cars at Renault’s innovative Electri-city plant in Douai, France.

The Scenic joins 52kWh versions of the Renault 4 and Renault 5 in qualifying for the Band 2 ECG, while the Megane and 40kWh versions of the R4 and R5 remain eligible for the £1,500 Band 1 discount.

Adam Wood, managing director of Renault UK, said: “Renault Group was the first car manufacturer to have its decarbonisation targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) back in March 2019, and confirmation of the maximum grant for Renault Scenic, as a result of its battery maker using 100% renewable energy at its plant, is another demonstration of how we have prioritised putting sustainability at the heart of our manufacturing processes.

“In the first three months of 2026 Renault’s EV registrations in the UK grew 87% year-on-year, powered by a combination of the launches of the award-winning Renault 4 and Renault 5 and the growing consumer confidence and momentum built by the government’s Electric Car Grant. Now, 1 in 3 new Renault cars sold is electric, proving that there is a strong appetite for great electric cars that are brilliantly designed, fun to drive, packed with tech and affordably priced.”
