Renault 4 prices to start at £26,995

The all-electric Renault 4 will be priced from £26,995 when order books open in July this year.

The modern re-invention of one of the French manufacturer’s most-loved models will be available with three trim levels: entry-level evolution, mid-tier techno, and range-topping iconic.

The Renault 4 EV is available with just one choice of battery, a 52kWh unit powering a 152bhp electric motor. This combination can propel the R4 from 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds, and return a range of 247 miles. When charged with a 100kW DC charger, the battery can be topped up from 15% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Like its sister car, the multiple award-winning Renault 5, the Renault 4 is equally retro-inspired. In a nod to its predecessor, the front grille is made from a single piece, while the three-part rear lights are a re-imagining of those on its predecessor.

Further design cues displaying the R4’s heritage include the bonnet lines continuing to the bottom of the grill, the rear quarter window, and the three lines sculpted into the doors. Overall, the Renault 4’s aesthetic is indicative of the original car’s ‘go anywhere, do anything’ character.

In terms of safety, all versions of the R4 come with cruise control, a rear-view camera and rear-mounted parking sensors, emergency brake assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, a driver attention alert, and a collision avoidance system. The vehicle also emits a sound to alert nearby pedestrians of its whereabouts.

As standard, the base evolution model Renault 4 benefits from keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, a 10-inch, centrally-mounted infotainment display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a seven-inch driver display, and two front USB-C ports for mobile devices.

Step up to the techno trim, and wireless smartphone charging, multiple driving modes, two rear USB-C ports, paddle shifters with four levels of regenerative braking, adaptive cruise control, hands-free parking, and a 10-inch driver display are standard. The 10-inch infotainment system also comes with an in-built Google OS.

The techno gets several aesthetic updates over the evolution including a synthetic leather steering wheel, a shark fin antenna, ambient lighting with 48 colour combinations, a fabric dashboard, and roof rails; a nod to the original R4. Both, however, come with with 18-inch black ‘Sixties’ diamond cut alloy wheels.

Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) is also standard, meaning the car can be used to power several household items, from fridges to coffee machines. V2L can also power a house for a certain period in the event of a power outage.

The top-tier iconic comes with 18-inch diamond cut ‘Parisienne’ alloys, a hands-free boot, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, plus a synthetic leather dashboard with yellow stitching and illuminated ‘Renault 4′ wording.

When it comes to tech, the iconic gets adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, a road sign recognition system, rear cross traffic alert, plus a rear occupant safe exit alert.

Renault is also offering customers VIP ordering access via its £150 R Pass, which allows them to order their R4 from July 1, 2025 ahead of its release to the general public on July 15. If customers finance their R4 via Renault’s Mobilize Financial Services, they will receive three years’ free servicing.

Pricing for the techno and iconic trims will be announced in due course. Renault has confirmed that a ‘plein sud’ model with an electric opening canvas roof will join the R4 line-up shortly after the launch date.
