Ohme Park & Charge to reduce public EV charging costs
EV Charge point operator (CPO) Ohme has introduced its Park & Charge function to its latest residential ePod S charger.
Returning charging speeds of up to 22kW, the ePod S charger is designed for communal use at residential and business properties. The wall-mounted box will enable developers to roll out consistent EV charging infrastructure to keep pace with the UK’s appetite for electric vehicles.
As recently as February this year, the sale of used EVs soared to over 45%. Charging infrastructure has also soared, with over 80,000 public charge points now installed nationwide.
The ePod S qualifies for the UK Government’s OZEV grant, making home charging more affordable for those without off-street parking. The OZEV grant has been increased to £500 and will take effect on April 1, 2026. It is open to landlords and workplace parking via the Workplace Charging Scheme.

Park & Charge comes with a Building Management Platform, which enables building managers to add or remove users, alter pricing, and track charging activity. Drivers can use the Ohme app to start and stop charging sessions, pay for charging directly through the app, and view their charging history and charge session details.
Park & Charge benefits from Ohme’s dynamic charging, which connects to the national grid in real time. This adjusts the car’s charge session to when electricity prices are at their lowest, thus reducing charging costs.
David Watson, the Ohme CEO, said: “The Park & Charge function with the new ePod S is a valuable addition to the Ohme range for those after a shared parking solution.
“This will not only make it easier for property developers to choose Ohme when deciding on their residential EV charging partner, as well as for businesses with shared parking arrangements or landlords.”
The Ohme ePod S is priced from £949 including installation, and is compatible with Type 1 or Type 2 EVs.
