New Kia EV4 Motion and EV3 qualify for £1,500 Government Electric Car Grant
Kia has announced that three new models are now eligible for the UK Government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant (ECG): the Kia EV3 Air, Kia EV3 GT-Line, and the EV4 Motion.
With the £1,500 discount, the Kia EV3 starts at £31,555 for the entry-level Air trim car. This is for the Standard Range car, which returns up to 270 miles on a single charge. The Long Range version with the 81.4kWh battery and a 365-mile range is priced from £34,555. Available solely with the larger battery pack, the mid-tier EV3 GT-Line is priced from £37,995 following the application of the ECG.

The VW ID 3 and MG4-rivalling Kia EV4 also benefit from the £1,500 price cut. Air-spec EV4 models are now priced at £33,245 with the 58.3kWh battery, while 81.4kWh models begin at £34,495. The smaller-batteried car manages a 273-mile range, while the latter achieves 388 miles.
A newly-introduced EV4 trim level dubbed ‘Motion’ has also been added to the EV4 line-up and qualifies for the ECG. The Kia EV4 Motion sits between the mid-tier EV4 GT-Line and range-topping GT-Line S.
Packed with plenty of standard kit, the Kia EV4 Motion gets an eight-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, bi-material vegan leather and cloth upholstery, heated outer rear seats, a surround-view monitor, a blind-spot view monitor, plus an electrically-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.

Visually, the EV4 Motion comes with the same 17-inch alloy wheels and exterior detailing as Air-spec cars, including colour-coded door mirrors and side sills, black wheel arches, and a silver window surround.
This latest EV4 model is priced from £38,995 with the ECG applied. Like the rest of the EV4 hatchback line-up, it’s produced at Kia’s plant in Žilina, Slovakia, where the South Korean manufacturer says it has been tuned and developed to European tastes.
Later this year, Kia promises to introduce GT-branded, performance-focused versions of the EV3 and EV4 with all-wheel-drive (AWD) electric powertrains.
