MG has unveiled its all-electric Cyber SUV concept, which will serve as the Sino-British firm’s future flagship.
Described by MG design chief, Jozef Kaban, as a “dream car”, the Cyber is MG’s second concept to be unveiled at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed alongside the MG Go, which points to the design of its upcoming Renault 5 rival, the MG2.
Like the Go, the D-segment Cyber promises to take MG into exciting new design territory. Its cab-rearward design is paired with a long bonnet to create a GT-style profile that has been compared to the Ferrari Purosangue.

The two sets of twin front- and rear tail-lights are separated by a thin lightbar to afford the Cyber SUV an aggressive appearance. Meanwhile, illuminated MG badges are placed above the lightbars and above the front-forward air vents, leaving no doubt about the Cyber’s MG heritage.
For now, MG insists that the Cyber is just a concept, and the interior has yet to be designed. It will, however, enter production at some stage in the future. As with any technical details, a confirmed date is still to be determined. However, we know that a production version is not confirmed for the UK market, and it could be branded as one of MG’s premium IM models.
Speaking to reporters at the launch event, MG’s UK product director, David Allison, said: “As a global brand that sells in 100 countries around the world in huge volumes, there are cars that are sold in other markets around the world, as well as China, that we don’t necessarily take,” he said.

“It may be that we do end up taking something like that, but [for now] it’s a concept car that conveys a vision and design direction that we want to go down.”
Like the MG Go, the MG Cyber lays out the future of MG’s design language under Kaban, who joined from the Volkswagen Group in 2024. The Slovak’s previous body of work includes the Audi A5 Coupé, the Volkswagen Lupo, the Skoda Octavia, and the Bugatti Veyron.
At the unveiling of the MG Go and the Cyber, Kaban and Allison explained that MG’s future designs will be influenced by its 122-year heritage without leaning into retro territory. MG’s Cyber naming system was introduced with its current flagship, the all-electric Cyberster convertible, which debuted in 2023.
