Ultra-flexible Kia PV5 Crew van set for April 30 arrival date
Kia has announced that it will launch its electric-only PV5 Crew van on April 30, which can be easily converted between passenger and cargo usage.
Based on the PV5 Cargo L2/H1 Cargo van, the Kia PV5 Crew enables tool-free transitions between passenger and cargo layouts via a one-touch seat lever.
The system allows users to switch the van from a two-seat commercial layout to a five-seat passenger configuration in seconds, as the lever releases the inner sidewall-mounted recliner, tips its cushions, and slides the partition between the cab and the loading bay.
According to Kia, “the mechanism requires neither tools nor downtime”, and the interior comes with an L-track mounting system to secure cargo and add-ons. This allows the PV5 Crew to be used across a variety of sectors, from construction and maintenance to repairs, landscaping, and airport services.

The Kia PV5 is part of Kia’s ‘Made In Plant’ (MIP) conversion strategy, in which the car’s flexible conversion system is built into the vehicle on site at the South Korean firm’s Hwaseong plant in Seoul.
The PV5 Crew’s cargo area is 1,278mm in five-seat mode, and 1.9mm with two seats in place. Depending on the configuration, cargo volume ranges from 2.4m³ to 3.7m³. The maximum payload is targeted at 625kg.
When it comes to battery, the PV5 Crew gets a 51.5kWh pack, with a 176-mile range. Pricing has yet to be announced, but as a reference point, the PV5 Cargo panel van is priced from £27,645, while the people-moving Passenger variant starts at £31,495 with the £1,500 Government Electric Car Grant (ECG) applied. Order books for the PV5 opened in May 2025, and deliveries began later in the year.
As well as sliding doors, all models get 16-inch steel wheels, front and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera, a 12.9-inch centrally-mounted touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android compatibility, plus a 7.5-inch driver display and automatic air conditioning.
In the Kia PV5 Crew, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability is standard with outlets in the cargo area, along with a non-slip floor for safer loading and unloading.
