Hyundai Ioniq 6 N teased in new images ahead of Goodwood debut

Hyundai has shared the first pictures of its upcoming Ioniq 6 N performance model ahead of its global unveiling in the UK next month.

The all-electric fastback will make its debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed as a partner to the critically acclaimed Ioniq 5 N SUV. In advance of that appearance, the Korean firm has given a glimpse of the new car, based on the regular Ioniq 6 ‘streamliner’.

The new images show that the Ioniq 6 N will enhance the standard car with a wider track hidden beneath flared wheel arches. They also reveal a substantial rear wing jutting out from the car’s sloping tailgate, replacing the small ducktail affair. Hyundai says this massive wing, along with substantial aerodynamic enhancements to the bodywork will help ensure high-speed stability for its performance saloon.

Lightweight wheels have been squeezed into those fat arches and Hyundai says the 6 N will bring a host of enhancements that will embody N’s three performance pillars: “Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability and Everyday Sports Car”.

A big wing is a must for any performance car

That sounds like a lot of marketing waffle, but given the N Divison’s recent history with the 5 N, i30 N and i20 N, we’d expect some sensational results.

Hyundai hasn’t given firm details of the Ioniq 6 N’s powertrain, but it’s likely to be the same as that in the Ioniq 5 N. That means 641bhp, 546lb ft and an 84kWh battery. Expect performance to be pretty similar, so a 0-62mph time of around 3.5 second and top speed of around 160mph. Also expect synthesised engine sounds and simulated gearshifts that draw you into the driving experience.

“Ioniq 6 N will once again disrupt the high-performance EV segment to deliver exciting driving experiences to our fans.” said Joon Park, vice president and Head of N Management Group. “We chose to debut the Ioniq 6 N at Goodwood Festival of Speed to be as close to our fans as possible.”
