EAV will supply the £2.6m order during 2021 and 2022 to the internationally expanding on-demand laundry and dry cleaning platform
Electric Assisted Vehicles Limited (EAV), the Oxford-based sustainable zero-emissions transport manufacturers, have confirmed that a substantial order of 200 EAV2Cubed has been placed by LaundryHeap to be delivered during the back part of 2021 and throughout 2022.
Founded by Deyan Dimitrov in 2014, LaundryHeap offers direct-to-door laundry and dry-cleaning services to consumer and business customers, including many city-based major brands. The platform allows users to have their laundry collected, washed, ironed, and returned to them in a guaranteed turnaround time of 24 hours.
The business is experiencing rapid growth, partly driven by their pandemic offering of a ‘virus wash’ which has carried on into the post-pandemic urban businesscape, as well as their focus on green cleaning techniques. LaundryHeap are focusing on creating a high sustainability supply chain as well as deploying low-carbon transport with the EAV2Cubed.
“We’ve trailed the EAV2Cubed for the last year and it’s been a tremendous success for us.” commented Deyan Dimitrov. “The operational efficiency of an eCargo bike in comparison to a van has become really easy to see and work with. Our EAV’s can move around the city almost twice as fast as vans and the fact that they make almost no environmental impact whatsoever gives us a much more carbon neutral status as business. We’re rapidly growing as a business but we’re also maintaining our sustainability and environmental focus which is essential to the ethos of LaundryHeap.”
Operating in Europe, the USA, Asia and the Middle East, LaundryHeap will be deploying the EAV2Cubeds throughout their international locations.
“Companies like LaundryHeap are perfect partners for us.” Said Leo Bethell, Head of Business Partnerships at EAV. “They have environmental sustainability at the heart of their operations, but they need the highest levels of efficiency and performance to achieve their business objectives. Using eCargo bikes in urban environments is much more efficient and effective than vans, combustion engine or electric. We’re lighter and quicker and easier to operate.
The fact that LaundryHeap has placed such a substantial order shows their commitment to the future of urban transport and their business which is going from strength to strength. We’re excited to be delivering EAVs to LaundryHeap locations all over the world where we’ll be able to continue to clearly demonstrate the superiority of lightweight future transport solutions over legacy vehicles”.
