Europe’s largest holiday rental group, Awaze, has named home charger provider Ohme as its official charging partner to create more EV-friendly holidays as demand for electric vehicles increases.
According to data from Awaze, holiday homes with access to a home EV charger obtained 16% more bookings and generated 39% more revenue than those without in 2025.
This is in line with an 24.3% year-on-year increase in EV sales from last year. Since 2022, Awaze reports that the number of properties with an EV home charger has doubled.
The new partnership between the two parties will see Awaze homeowners receive a free home charger from Ohme when they agree to have a wallbox installed.
“This partnership with Ohme is a fantastic opportunity to add even greater appeal to our owners’ properties while giving more value and convenience to guests choosing an EV-friendly holiday,” said Matthew Price, Awaze CEO.
“Awaze offers more than 20,000 properties to holiday-goers in the UK via our Cottages.com and Hoseasons brands and collaborating with Ohme will be beneficial to both owners and add to the experience of any EV drivers staying.”
Ohme’s director for mobility, Peter McDonald, added: “Charging an EV at a home will always be the most affordable place for drivers to charge their vehicles.
“This new collaboration between Ohme and Awaze means more EV drivers will be able to access cheaper charging when on holiday and avoid relying on public charging, which is often more expensive.
“As the findings by Awaze show, those homes with EV charger access enjoy more bookings and more revenue, meaning there are benefits for both drivers and owners too. As EV ownership grows, future requests for EV charging are only going to go up.”
Alongside Awaze, Airbnb, Forest Holidays, and Hoseasons, several other holiday home rental firms are offering properties fitted with wallboxes. What’s more, in 2025, Lonely Planet published a book focused solely on European EV roadtrips.
