Audi Q4 e-tron gets fresh interior, improved range and dancing tail lights

Audi has updated its Q4 e-tron SUV with new motors, faster charging and sharper looks for 2026.

In keeping with mid-life facelifts everywhere, the brand’s mid-size SUV gets a new body-coloured grille and recontoured front bumper along with redesigned segmented LED lights that can display one of four selectable “signatures”.

It’s a similar story at the rear where new OLED tail lights sit between a restyled roof spoiler and more prominent diffuser. Audi says the new lights “create a new light pattern multiple times a second” allowing the rear to take on “a dynamic look”.

Inside, there’s a new softer curved dashboard array featuring an 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen running a new Android-based operating system. For the first time in this segment, buyers can also specify an optional 12-inch passenger display.

Under the surface, the updated Q4 e-tron gets a new motor bringing a 10% improvement in efficiency, and a more efficient transmission. Between them, they bring range boosts of between 10 and 20 miles depending on variant. The sportback performance variant can now cover up to 367 miles.

While the batteries remain the same at 59kWh or 77kWh, DC charging in higher-spec models has been improved to 185kW, meaning a 10-80% recharge now takes as little as 27 minutes, or 115 miles can be added in just 10 minutes.

At the same time and in keeping with other MEB platform cars Audi has added vehicle-to-load charging. This allows devices ranging from laptops to e-bikes to be charged from the car’s drive battery either via a charge port adaptor or a power socket in the boot.

UK orders for the updated Q4 e-tron will open in June, with deliveries expected to begin later in the summer. Prices will start at £46,260 for the Audi Q4 SUV e-tron Sport, with the Sportback costing an extra £1,900 across the line-up. Above that, the line-up includes S line, Black Edition and Vorsprung specifications.

All trim levels are available with the 201bhp or 282bhp rear-mounted motors or an all-wheel-drive powertrain offering 335bhp. The range tops out with the Audi Q4 quattro performance Vorsprung 340, which costs from £68,660.
