Allstar and Be.EV announce fleet charging discount

Two key players in the UK’s public charging network have announced a new discount for business fleet users.

Chargecard provider Allstar and chargepoint operator Be.EV have confirmed the reduced prices for fleet operators to ‘reward’ those choosing to run electric vehicles.

In a move that is hoped will spark similar offers from other charging networks, Be.EV is offering fleet drivers a 10% discount on charging costs for the next three months when paid for via the Allstar Chargepass payment system. That brings the standard cost of charging at a Be.EV rapid device down from 75p/kWh to 67.5p/kWh.

Allstar said the offer was in recognition of the significant role fleets play in supporting the UK’s public charging network and their sensitivity to charging costs.

Tom Rowlands, managing director of global EV solutions at Allstar’s parent group Corpay, said: “Fleets are under mounting pressure ahead of the 2030 ban of new ICE vehicles, not to mention the economic pressures felt universally. That’s why it was important for us to recognise that cost of charging is an increasingly important factor for fleets in choosing their charge points, and to support them as much as possible.”

In a statement announcing the deal, Allstar noted: “Fleets are one of the largest consumers of on the road charging, and will become price-sensitive as networks increase in numbers and reliability. Therefore, CPOs should continue to support and encourage this adoption by offering enhanced networks, ultra-rapid charging, and cost effective pricing as the 2030 deadline for banning new petrol- and diesel-only vehicle sales races ever closer, which underscores the need and urgency for businesses to adopt EVs.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO at Be.EV commented: “We’re so happy to bolster our partnership with Allstar customers to give them an exclusive discount to the UK’s 4th top-rated rapid/ultra-rapid charging network in the UK.

“Fleet managers and drivers deserve to have simple charging nationwide. Businesses need their charging to be fast and simple to use.

“Expanding our relationship with Allstar was an obvious decision to reach fleet drivers. It’s not the first time we’ve been able to work together in this way, and I’m confident it won’t be the last.”
