Aion opens first wave of UK dealerships

Chinese automotive brand Aion has opened its first wave of UK dealerships to mark its UK arrival and its debut vehicle – the all-electric Aion V SUV.

The newcomer aims to open 15 sites by the end of June 2026, and double that to 30 come the year’s end. Each site will operate showrooms, alongside service and parts facilities.

At the time of writing, Aion dealerships are now open in Beverley, Leeds, Newcastle, Newton Abbot, Shrewsbury, Slough, Swansea, and Winchester. Additional Aion sites are scheduled for later this year.

Founded in 2017 as an “upper-mainstream” brand by GAC, China’s fourth-largest carmaker, Aion UK is a joint venture between GAC and Jameel Motors. The latter is responsible for the Farizon van dealer network across the UK.

Aimed at the likes of the Skoda Elroq, the Geely EX5, and the Renault Scenic, the Aion V is priced from £36,450 and is covered by the brand’s ‘Great 8’ promise. This includes an eight-year warranty, eight years servicing, eight years roadside assistance, and eight years MOT.

The Aion V comes with a 75.3kWh battery, capable of up to 317 miles on a single charge. Its maximum charging speed is 180kW, allowing for a 10% – 80% top up in 24 minutes.

Order books for the Aion V are now open, and initial deliveries are being made to customers across the country.

After the first Aion UK dealership opened its doors, brand managing director, Jon Wakefield, said: “It’s a major milestone to see the first retailers go live, welcome customers and offer test drives. We have a great car in the AION V, and more models will join it in the showrooms soon.

“But for us, it’s not only about a great product, we’ve also focused on the quality of the purchase and ownership experience for customers, too.”

The Aion UT hatchback has been confirmed as the second car in the Aion range, and will launch later this year.
