2025 Skoda Enyaq vRS: fastest Skoda gets battery boost

Skoda has unveiled its updated 2025 Enyaq vRS, with a bigger battery, revised chassis setup and sporty sounds.

The update to the performance flagship of the Skoda range follows the recent refresh of the mainstream variants and follows a similar pattern.

Like all SUV and coupe models, the new Skoda Enyaq vRS adopts the “Modern Solid” front end first seen on the smaller Elroq, incorporating the smooth Tech Deck “face”, which comes with illumination as standard on the vRS model. Restyling of the body has helped improve aerodynamics on both SUV and coupe versions.

To stand out from the rest of the range the Enyaq vRS gets a lower stance – 15mm at the front, 10mm at the rear – and 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, with 21-inchers an optional extra. It also gets a gloss black finish to exterior trim such as the roof rails, window trim and wing mirror caps, along with vRS-exclusive full-width reflector strips on the bespoke front and rear bumpers. Full matrix LED headlights are standard and there’s the option of the vibrant Hyper Green paint to really stand out.

Under the refreshed skin, the Enyaq’s motors remain unchanged from the 2024 update. That means two motors providing all-wheel drive and a total of 335bhp. Tweaks means a 0.1-second reduction in 0-62mph time – to 5.4 seconds. This makes the Enyaq vRS the joint-fastest accelerating Skoda in history, alongside the new Elroq vRS.

Like the rest of the Enyaq range, the vRS gets a new 79kWh battery in place of the old 77kWh unit. While the maximum range remains the same at just over 340 miles, DC charging speeds have improved marginally from 175kW to 185kW, allowing a 10-80% charge in 26 minutes.

The Enyaq vRS’ chassis has been retuned for the 2025 model year, with a more dynamic damper setup than the outgoing car. Like other performance models from the VW Group stable, the Enyaq vRS’ dynamic chassis control now features 15 selectable levels of damper stiffness and a special traction mode tailored to the car’s all-wheel-drive setup.

For the first time, Skoda has introduced synthesised ‘engine’ sounds to the Enyaq vRS, with two external noises offered – Sport and Futuristic.

Inside, buyers have a choice of finishes – Suite and Lounge. Suite offers part-leather/part-artificial leather upholstery with grey stitching while Lounge introduces microsuede upholstery in place of the genuine leather, and adds lime green stitching. All versions get heated massage sports seats, heated three-spoke vRS steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and three-zone climate control. Also standard is a 13-inch central infotainment system, augmented reality head-up display and a 12-speaker Canton sound system.

Tech upgrades include new keyless entry that automatically unlocks when the key is detected nearby and relocks the car when the key moves more than 2.5 metres away. Remote parking from outside the car is also supported via a smartphone app.

Prices for the new Skoda Enyaq vRS start at £51,660 for the SUV and £53,560 for the Coupe. Orders open on June 12, with first customer deliveries later in the summer.
