2025 Renault Megane and Scenic get price drop and one-pedal driving
Renault has updated its Megane and Scenic family cars for 2025, with new technology, a new trim level and lower starting price.
The Megane hatchback now starts at £32,495 marking a £1,500 reduction, while the Scenic SUV’s entry price drops to £37,195.
While the Scenic’s price reduction is only £300, the changes actually represent far better value as all versions now feature the larger 87kWh battery – previously a £3,500 step up from the entry-level specification.
That means all versions of the Scenic now feature a 215bbhp motor in place of the previous entry-level 168bhp unit, and offer up between 369 and 381 miles or range, depending on the trim level.
The Megane retains the same 60kWh battery and 215bhp motor powertrain option as before, offering up to 285 miles of range.
As part of the 2025 refresh, Renault has updated the cars’ technology to include one-pedal driving and selectable regenerative braking. Standard AC charging has also been upgraded to 11kW and a vehicle-to-load adapter is now standard across all variants. This allows owners to power 240V appliances – from laptops to coffee machines – from the car’s drive battery. Later this year, an over-the-air update will enable plug-and-charge capability for simplified public charging.

The update has also simplified the model structure for both cars, applying the same three trim levels across both models – Techo, Techno Esprit Alpine and Iconic Esprit Alpine.
Techno versions of the Megane feature 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a reversing camera and heat pump, along with a 12-inch touchscreen, digital dials and wireless smartphone mirroring.
The £34,495 Techo Esprit Alpine adds 20-inch alloys, sportier exterior and interior styling, power adjustable seats, adaptive cruise control and added safety systems. At the top of the range, the Iconic Esprit Alpine is £36,995 and brings a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 360-degree camera, digital rear view mirror and hands-free parking.
Scenic specifications follow a similar pattern, although even entry-level cars get adaptive cruise control, 19-inch alloys and an enhanced occupant and pedestrian safety package.
The £39,995 Techno Esprit Alpine builds on this with 20-inch wheels and face ID which automatically selects driver profiles and seating position, while the Iconic Esprit Alpine matches the top-spec Megane’s kit list and adds the clever Solarbay panoramic sunroof. Prices start at £41,995 and top-grade cars get the full choice of exterior paint finishes at no extra cost.
