The Lepas L6 will go on sale later this year as the sister brand to Chery and Jaecoo looks to expand its presence.
The all-electric C-segment SUV will sit beneath the flagship L8 plug-in hybrid and will launch ahead of the compact L4 electric SUV, which is due next year.
Based on the same LEX underpinnings as the Jaecoo 7 and Omoda E5, the Lepas L6 uses a 214bhp front-mounted motor and 65kWh LFP battery. That’s enough to cover the 0-62mph run in a respectable 7.9 seconds and deliver up to 279 miles of range. DC charging is capped at 120kW, which Lepas says will deliver a 30-80% charge in 22 minutes.
At 4.57m long, the L6 sits somewhere between Skoda’s Elroq and Enyaq in size, and is expected to compete with those and other family SUV such as the Peugeot E-3008 and Renault Scenic when it goes on sale.
Order books are set to open in early quarter four of 2026, with the first customer deliveries towards the end of the year.
UK prices are still to be confirmed, but Lepas is positioned as the more premium member of the Chery Group’s UK offering, suggesting it will be priced closer to European and Korean rivals that the Jaecoo and Omoda.
Lepas has confirmed that there will be two trim levels – Essence and Elevate – both using the same powertrain.
Standard equipment across both variants includes 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED headlights with high beam assist, a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control. All models also get a 13.2-inch infotainment screen and wireless phone charging, adaptive cruise control, 540-degree parking camera and front and rear sensors.
Elevate adds full “leather-effect”upholstery, heating and cooling, plus six-way power adjustment for both front seats. It also brings a powered tailgate, ambient lighting and air purification system, as well as an ungraded Sony sound system. Nano-Aqua Ion Air Purification System and 256-colour ambient lighting.
