The seven-seat Kia PV5 is here with a £37,000 price tag and a new trim level

Kia has officially launched a seven-seat version of its PV5 as well as adding a new range-topping trim level to the electric van line-up.

Kia says the PV5 Passenger 7-Seat brings more flexibility for families and shared mobility operators, with class-leading legroom and generous luggage space.

Set to go on sale from Monday, June 8 with customer deliveries starting in October, the PV5 7-seat will cost from £36,995 and will come with a choice of three trim levels, including the new Elite grade.

While existing five-seat versions of the PV5 qualify for a £1,500 discount under the Electric Car Grant, Kia is still waiting for approval for the seven-seat version.

Unlike the rival VW ID.Buzz, which starts at £60,500, the PV5 Passenger 7-Seat uses a 2-2-3 seating configuration, with the middle row set to one side to allow easier access to the rear bench. That rear bench can be folded down to create 785 litres of boot space, and in seven-seat configuration the PV5 offers 318 litres of boot space.

Kia says the seven-seat PV5 is ideally set up to serve larger families or commercial operators such as airport transfers and ride-hailing services, with up to a metre of rear legroom.

Kia PV5 7-Seat range, price and specification

The PV5 Passenger 7-Seat comes exclusively in Long Range guise, with a 71.2kWh battery. Kia says this should provide up to 242 miles of range, while 150kW charging will take it from 10-80% in under 30 minutes.

The PV5 7-Seat is offered in the same three trims as the five-seat variant – Essential, Plus and Elite, with prices for Essential set at £36,995, and Plus costing £40,275.

For 2027, basic equipment across all pV5 Passenger models has been updated to include walk-away locking, a mutli-postion driver’s armrest and a compact antenna that cuts the van’s height to 1.9m for entry into restricted areas. Unlike the five-seater, every seven-seater also gets a heat pump and 16-inch alloys as standard.

The new Elite grade builds on the already generous Essential trim and adds powered sliding doors, ventilated front seats, a surround view camera, side parking sensors, blind spot view monitor, two-tone upholstery and premium paint.

In five-seat versions, the Elite edition starts at £39.695, while the PV5 Passenger 7-Seat Elite costs from £41,975.

Expanded PV5 Cargo line-up

As well as the new seven-seat Passenger variant of the PV5, Kia has expanded the PV5 Cargo line-up. The new L1H1 is 200mm shorter than the L2H1 and offers up to 4m³ of cargo space – 0.4m³ less than the L2/H1.

Offered in Essential or Plus grades, it becomes the new entry-level version, priced from £27,355, plus VAT but before government grants. That is £310 lower than the previous starting price for the L2H1 version. That intermediate-sized version, however, has seen its price creep up by almost £1,000 to £28,455 plus VAT.

With the Government’s Zero-Emission Van Grant, the price of all L1H1 and L2H1 vans drops by £5,000. Like the Passenger variants, orders for the 2027MY PV5 Cargo, including the L1H1, open on June 8 and first deliveries are expected in October.
