Denza Z9 GT Chopard gets gemstone-finished cabin and 18ct gold watch pairing
Chinese premium EV brand, Denza, has paired with luxury Swiss watchmaker and fashion brand, Chopard, to create a one-off version of its Z9 GT for the 2026 amfAR Gala in Cannes.
As part of its European roll-out, BYD-owned Denza, has splashed the cash on several high-profile publicity events, including endorsements with ex-James Bond actor Daniel Craig and 11-time F1 winner, Felipe Massa.
BYD has also confirmed a huge 2,016 square metre set-up at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will showcase models from its UK model range, as well as from Denza, and its luxury Yangwang brand.
The Denza Z9 GT Chopard has been donated to the Met Gala-rivalling amfAR charity event to raise money for AIDS research.

Step inside the wood and leather-upholstered Chopard Denza Z9 GT, and this “moving piece of jewellery” boasts violet gemstones set across several cockpit controls, while the Chopard ‘C’ is embroidered into the headrests.
Leaning into Chopard’s watchmaking heritage dating back to 1860, the Z9 GT comes with a set of ‘his and her’ timepieces based on the Swiss firm’s 36mm ‘Happy Sport’ and 41mm ‘Alpine Eagle’ references. Both are finished in what Denza describes as “ethical” 18-carat rose gold, and paired with snow-set diamonds.
The 17.3-inch infotainment screen comes with a dedicated Chopard theme, while a dedicated luggage set comes handcrafted from Japanese beauty brand, Shiro.

Following the announcement of the tailor-made Z9 GT, BYD’s executive vice president, Stella Li described the collaboration as an organic progression for the brand.
“Our Denza brand made its full debut in Europe at the Palais Garnier in Paris only a few weeks ago, so our collaboration here with Chopard feels entirely appropriate and natural,” she said. “The tailor-made Denza Chopard Z9 GT is the perfect example of how the finest technology becomes natural, almost invisible.
“But more than that, it shows how a refined house of luxury can take the finest details and raise them to another level altogether. We’re so proud of this collaboration and delighted that it can play a key role in the amfAR Gala Cannes and its fund-raising efforts.”

The regular Denza Z9 GT is set to go on sale in the UK this summer, with a price tag of just over £100,000.
With the likes of the Porsche Taycan and the recently-launched Mercedes AMG 4-Door in its sights, Denza’s debut UK car packs almost 1,000bhp and a 497-mile range courtesy of a 122kWh ‘Blade’ battery made by BYD.
When it arrives here, the Z9 GT will also be compatible with BYD’s ‘Flash’ charging network, which promises ultra-rapid charging speeds of up to 1,500kW, allowing for a 10-70% charge in just five minutes. By mid-2027, BYD has set out to install 300 Flash chargers across the UK.
