Vauxhall gives first glimpse of all new electrified Astra

Vauxhall has previewed the next generation of the Astra, with the manufacturer confirming it will feature electrified drivetrains.

The new Astra will be available as a five-door hatchback, with a Sports Tourer estate version also on offer, as the brand looks to expand its electrification portfolio.

Images show a bright gold exterior with a focus on the Astra’s ultra-slim IntelliLux LED® headlamps. According to Vauxhall, it will also feature a ‘next-generation Pure Panel digital cockpit’ with fully glazed surfaces paired with the integration of the ‘Vauxhall Vizor’ that was featured on the Mokka.

Paul Willcox, managing director of Vauxhall, said: “The All-New Astra will open an exciting new chapter in the 41-year history of our popular compact model. We are confident that the next generation Vauxhall Astra will make a powerful impression and attract new customers to the brand, especially now Astra will be electrified for the first time.”

The next-generation Astra is the latest step in Vauxhall’s aim to have a fully electrified range by 2024. More information, including pricing and specifications, is expected over the next few months.
