Jaunt Motors teams up with British conversion brand Zero EV

Australian EV conversion firm Jaunt Motors has joined forces with British brand Zero EV to convert Land Rovers, Porsches and Minis.

The two businesses have come together to create the new brand Fellten, which will operate across Australia, the UK and North America.

Speaking on the merger, co-founder of Jaunt Motors, Dave Budge, said: “Every vehicle on the road will need to be electric by 2050 for us to achieve net zero emissions and classic car owners will want their vehicle to be electric much sooner.

Budge added that the move will give both companies access to global markets and allow them to work with other models. Jaunt Motors currently specialises in the electrification of classic Land Rovers, whilst Zero EV has experience in converting other classic models such as Porsche 911’s and Minis.

Chris Hazell, the co-founder and CEO of Zero EV, who will be CEO of the new company, told The Driven: “We are delighted to launch Fellten – it’s the culmination of years of work from two teams working on other sides of the world, coming together with the shared ambition in shaping the future of electric vehicles.

“The merging of our two companies into … Fellten will provide classic vehicle customers with any level of electrification support, and provide automotive experts, mechanics and electric vehicle converters with the technology, tools and training to be a part of the growing global demand for electrification.”

For Jaunt Motors, the new merger will also allow the company to move into a bigger production facility as it faces growing demand, with bookings “stretching into 2024.”

Fellten says it plans to open its US facility early next year, and also intends to expand its operations in the UK and Australia.
