Bonnet adds ubitricity and soars past quarter of a million chargers

Bonnet has partnered with ubitricity, the UK’s largest charging network, adding more than 7,000 new locations to its network.

The signing of ubitricity comes on the heels of Bonnet also adding the German-based charging network EnBW to its network this week – making a further 5,000 locations available in Germany.

With the new addition of ubitricity and EnBW, Bonnet users now have access to more than 40 networks and over 260,000 charging devices spanning the UK and Europe – which represents a near 180% increase in Bonnet’s coverage since January this year.

ubitricity, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell, operates innovative lamppost chargers across the UK, Germany and France. Bonnet’s drivers will from Thursday morning be able to start charging with all its locations through its app.

Lamppost chargers typically are ideal for those who do not have a private driveway available, and a recent June 2023 survey by Bonnet found four in ten EV drivers do not have access to. ubitricity’s chargers therefore offer electric car owners a crucial and accessible way to recharge, particuarly overnight.
