Businesses in these areas are most prepared for the switch to EVs
Car lease comparison site Moneyshake reveals which areas in the UK have businesses that are the most and least prepared for an electric vehicle future.
The study analysed the Department for Transport and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency’s vehicle licensing statistics to establish which local authority in the UK has the highest amount of licensed electric company vehicles per the overall number of licensed company vehicles in that area to find which UK areas are the most prepared for the switch to business EVs.
Whilst there has been a recent shift in attitude and the uptake of EVs has risen significantly, there is still a way to go, as the study reveals that the average number of electric company vehicles licensed in the UK is just 15.30% of all company vehicles.
However, businesses with company cars look to be adapting to an electric car future quicker than those with individual ownership, as 56% of plug-in vehicles are company-kept in the UK, compared to 15% of all licensed vehicles.

Eben Lovatt, CEO of Moneyshake commented: “Businesses are on the right track to be ready for an electric future, with lots of areas across the country already adapting. We have seen that businesses are increasingly looking at EV leasing for fleets, with the benefit of there’s very little company car tax to pay on pure-electric models. On top of this, many workplaces now provide their own free charging points, which means staff can save money when they commute to the office.”
