Jenson Button’s JBXE team will feature a fresh driver line-up for the upcoming Hydro X Prix in Scotland. Amanda Sorensen returns to the Extreme E championship, partnering with Andreas Bakkerud for this critical race.

Sorensen, who debuted last season with Chip Ganassi Racing, will replace Dania Akeel at JBXE, marking a significant change as the team prepares for their home race on 13-14 July.

Sorensen’s previous stint in the championship was marked by impressive performances, including two podium finishes alongside RJ Anderson, culminating in a fifth-place overall standing. Notably, one of her top-three finishes occurred in Scotland, fueling hopes for a repeat performance in the upcoming race.

Speaking about rejoining the championship and her new team, Sorensen, said: “It’s great to be back in the championship competing for JBXE at the team’s home race in the UK. I am excited to be back racing in Extreme E and to join the JBXE team. I had a really strong event the last time we raced in Scotland and it would be fantastic to repeat and get on the podium again,” she said. Sorensen emphasized the importance of delivering a strong performance alongside her new teammate, Andreas Bakkerud, aiming to propel JBXE up the standings.

Team boss, Jenson Button, expressed his enthusiasm for Sorensen’s inclusion, saying: “We are thrilled to have Amanda as part of our driver line-up for the Hydro X Prix in Scotland. Amanda has strong pedigree in the series having already finished on the podium multiple times last season, and we are hoping she can form a strong team with Andreas and score a big haul of points at the Hydro X Prix. We are looking forward to racing again and believe we will be competitive in Scotland,” Button stated.
