MFG, the UK’s largest ultra-rapid charge point operator (CPO), has announced a 25% summer discount on EV charging across its entire UK network from now until September 30.
This means that EV drivers using any MFG charge point can now charge their vehicle for 59p per kilowatt hour, instead of 79p/kWh
The MFG summer discount means motorists can save around £8.40 on a 10-80% top-up of a Tesla Model Y RWD, £7.28 on a Renault 5 Comfort Range, and £10.50 on a Nissan Leaf Extended Range.
The summer discount puts MFG behind Tesla as the second-cheapest CPO in the UK, with the latter’s Supercharger network dynamic pricing going as low as 45p/kWh for Tesla owners, and 61p/kWh for those whose cars are compatible with the network but aren’t manufactured by the US carmaker.
To make the discounts simple, motorists don’t need to download an app to access MFG’s savings, with company director, Martin Symes, describing the discount as a “commitment to British EV drivers”.
“This summer price drop is our commitment to British EV drivers,” he said. “We are putting you first, cutting our ultra-rapid charging rate to just 59p/kWh so that your summer journeys are cheaper, greener, and hassle-free.
“With thousands of chargers across the UK and now one of the lowest rapid-charging prices in the country, there has never been a smarter time to go electric.”
MFG has over 2,000 charge points across 600 locations in the UK, with its installations delivering charging speeds of 150kW, 300kW, and 400kW, allowing for up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.
As Britain continues its transition towards decarbonisation, MFG is investing over £400 million into its charging network, with a view to building 3,000 ultra-rapid charge points nationwide by 2030. While MFG leads the way in terms of ultra-rapid charging sites, Shell Recharge Ubitricity is the UK’s largest network overall, with over 14,500 chargepoints across the country.
