Lunaz records 150% increase for its classic British EV restomods

Lunaz has announced a major increase in demand for its electrified restomods of British classic cars.

The Silverstone-based firm recorded a 150% rise in orders from customers across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and India. More than a third (35%) of those orders will remain in its home market, the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, the company recorded an 18% jump in order values as clients are investing further into bespoke materials and finishes, as well as advancements in tech and engineering. Lunaz also stated that the value of its vehicles have risen by 22% on the secondary market.

After going into administration and pausing all production early last year, Lunaz’s classic car arm restarted work in May 2024, and has allocated each car made for delivery in 2025. It has also extended its orders into the second half of 2026 to reflect the demand for its electrified classics, as well as the growing wider restomod market.

David Lorenz, Lunaz founder and CEO said: “The growth of our export business, along with the appreciating value of Lunaz cars offered to the secondary market, demonstrates a global appreciation for the Lunaz proposition – to marry cutting-edge technology and exceptional driving dynamics with the style of an era when beauty was the only requirement.

“This success lays the foundation for many years of growth, ensuring that we can continue developing and nurturing the very best restoration, engineering, and design talent. Indeed, these results are a testament to the breadth of capability within our team here in Silverstone, as they elevate these cars to a peerless standard for a growing and vibrant global customer base.”

Lunaz’s range of all-electric restomods includes an Aston Martin DB6, a Range Rover Classic Safari, a Rolls-Royce Phantom, and a Jaguar XJ120. Each model costs six figures, and is returned to concours standard after a 5,500-hour bare-metal restoration process at the brand’s Silverstone factory.

Lunaz vehicles are powered by an in-house developed electric powertrain using OEM battery cells and motors. All models have battery capacities of up to 80kWh, CCS fast-charging capability, and a range of up to 200 miles.
