Ford Pro is offering electric van drivers a home charger for just £10
Ford is offering commercial vehicle customers a home charger for just £10 as it looks to boost electric van sales.
The offer from Ford Pro runs from now until the end of December 2024 and includes a fully installed domestic wallbox, plus a year’s free access to the Ford Pro home charging software, for anyone buying the E-Transit or E-Transit Custom van.
The offer is aimed at helping small businesses and independent traders make the switch to an electric van. A May 2024 report by the Centre for Economic and Business Research found 13% of respondents from large fleets drove electric vans, compared with just 2.2% of sole traders.
The same report estimated that over a three-year ownership period, the lower energy and maintenance costs of an electric van could save an operator more than £11,500 compared with a diesel van.
Mandy Dean, director of commercial vehicles for Ford of Britain and Ireland, commented: “A tough business climate and the switch to electrification mean our customers need all the help they can get. Our new bundled billing offer can save time and money for businesses going electric, and Ford Pro’s full support under one roof can help every kind of customer work out what the best solution for them looks like.”
The home charging bundle provides Ford’s van customers with a wallbox capable of charging at up to 22kW on a three-phase supply, as well as the software to monitor and manage their vehicle’s charging status, including scheduling charging for lower-cost off-peak times. It also includes access to the BlueOval charge network, which covers 800,000 public charging points across Europe.
